My journey into counselling began with my own experience as a client, which sparked a deep curiosity about the positive impact counselling can have on people’s lives. I went on to train for three years in the person-centred approach and qualified with a Post-graduate Diploma in Counselling through The Norwich Centre. Person-centred counselling focuses on you as the expert in your own life, giving you the space to explore your thoughts and feelings in a supportive, non-judgmental environment at your own pace. I am also a trained BLAST Technique practitioner which can help with PTSD, phobias, anxiety and other trauma related issues (please see link and further info within this page).

During my training, I was diagnosed with dyslexia — and honestly, it explained so much. It suddenly made sense why I’d found certain things so difficult growing up, especially at school. Learning more about the dyslexic brain became a real passion of mine, and helped me see the strengths it’s also given me, both personally and in my NHS management role, where supporting positive client experiences was such an important part of my work.

I’m currently training as a couples counsellor.

Alongside my counselling work, I bring experience from working across the NHS, education, local government and sales, which has given me insight into the different pressures, challenges and experiences people can face in everyday life.

I'm married and have two grown up children, a granddaughter and a couple of dogs. Family is important to me, and while family life can be deeply rewarding,  I also understand it can also bring significant tension.

My goal is to support individuals through their mental health journey.
